Queensland Radiation Health "Certificates of Compliance"
With two "Authorised Persons" approved by Queenslands Radiation Health on staff, we can issue radiation "Certificates of Compliance" promptly and professionally for:
- X-ray scanning equipment for inanimate objects (baggage scanners and similar)
- Industrial gauges (sealed sources and ionising apparatus),
- Lab based and field portable X-ray analysis equipment,
- Field portable moisture and density gauges (neutron and gamma),
- Premises for the use and storage of radioactive materials, such as: industrial gauge premises, site radiation stores, biochemistry laboratories, veterinary radiotherapy rooms, radioactive waste stores,
- Class 4 Laser Premises (hair removal, tattoo removal, skin resurfacing, surgical ablation)
Risk Management – Technical Facilitation
Managing a business is not about “gut feelings”. Good quality decision making is based on well defined risk management practices. Why not have one of our staff lead your team through a:
- “Bow Tie gap analysis” for your explosives or recruitment management systems,
- “Cost benefit analysis” for options on your re-engineering or proposed sub-contracting project,
- “FN curve” for mild to extreme weather event response planning or site traffic incident analysis,
- “HAZOP” for the design of your process plant,
- “Fully Quantitative WRAC” for your sites Radiation Safety Plan or Principle Chemical Hazard Register?
The multitude of risk management techniques available to industry can be bewildering. Our facilitators can advise you on appropriate techniques and can lead your management or technical staff through the process, ensuring insightful outputs to ensure your management decision making is as well informed as possible.
Radiation Systems Audit
We routinely provide detailed systems and operational audits of radiation safety systems. We have provided detailed systems audits against AS2243.4 (Ionising Radiation in Laboratories), 2982.1 (Laboratory design), AS2397 (Lasers in the construction industry) and AS2211 (Safety of laser products) to clients including::
- Monash University,
- CSIRO AAHL (Geelong),
- CSIRO Livestock Industries (Armidale),
- James Cook University,
- National Measurement Institute (Lindfield)
Develop Technical Procedures for mines and industry
Our team has decades of experience working with mining companies, civil construction contractors and pharmaceutical laboratories developing technical work procedures (SOP/SWI) and safe work method statements (SHEWMS). We can write full documents from beginning to end in consultation with your technical experts, or simply conduct a review of the completed documents. Recently we have developed or reviewed technical procedures and/or training materials for clients including:
- Alphapharm,
- BHP Billiton - GEMCO,
- Glencore/Xstrata - Mount Isa,
- Leightons Constructions,
- Visionstream,
- Downer EDI - Blasting,
Develop (and certify) Internal Training materials for mines and industry
Our team is responsible for a number of long running corporate development packages for partners in mining and civil construction. In consultation with your corporate learning and development department and/or site based HSE teams and technical experts, we can produce first class training materials designed to be used in a systematic way by your internal training personnel to efficiently meet your internal strategic or operational skills development goals. Optionally, we can partner with your learning and development team to issue nationally recognised statements of attainment based on the evidence gathered during your internal training and assessment activities. Previous projects include:
- High level Incident Investigation for Glencore/Xstrata - Mount Isa,
- SHE Foundations (supervisor development) for Leightons Constructions,
- FLM Program (project manager development) for Leightons Constructions,
- HSE Leadership (supervisor development) for Downer EDI,
- G2 (Lead the risk management process) for Downer EDI,
- G3 (Design risk management systems) for Downer EDI,
- FLM Program (supervisor/superintendent development) for Anglo Gold,
